Image-Line have updated FL Studio to version 20.5 and with it introduced a new synth called FLEX. The preset-based instrument uses a combination of subtractive, wavetable, multi-sample, FM and AM synthesis. It then uses eight different macro knobs to control the key aspects of the sound that change depending on the preset selected.
The analysis section is a fairly unique and welcome concept – users can select between Waveform, Spectrogram, Vectorscope or Frequency Histogram displays, allowing you to see the movements and frequency content of any sound. Not only is it a good learning tool, it looks pretty cool too. There's also the usual FX including reverb, delay and a master filter with 21 different types to choose from.
